Mass LTC / FID Home Firearm Safety Course

Required course for all Mass. Permits Class A, Class B, or FID card

Required course for all Mass Residents and Non Residents.

This course meets all the new requirements as of April 2, 2026

Level:  Beginner  |   Registration fee:  $225  / $225 (AFS members)

Course Lessons: 

• Massachusetts Firearms Laws

• Parts and Operation of Pistols

• Safe Handling, Use, Storage, and Childproofing Methods of Firearms

• Suicide Prevention and Injury Reduction Education

• Ammunition

• Cleaning a Firearm

• Laws Governing Use of Force in the Commonwealth

• Disengagement and Conflict Avoidance Tactics

• Live-Fire Training (All equipment needed will be supplied)

• Assistance with Your Firearms License Application

Throughout The Day of the Class:

• Breaks will be taken Periodically 

• You are welcome to bring drinks and snacks

• You can bring lunch or there will be time for you to get something locally

Upon completion of this course you will receive a certificate to get your LTC / FID.

 

 

This course and the instructors are certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
