Rhode Island Concealed Carry Qualification

This is the qualification required when applying for and/or renewing a Rhode Island Concealed Carry permit.

Level:  Advanced  |   Registration fee:  $50

This is the qualification only.

 

 

A Few Things to Keep in Mind:

 

• RI will only allow you to carry a caliber up to what you qualify with. We recommend a .45 ACP as your platform for qualification

• For Non-Resident Applicants, we recommend applying through Cranston, Foster, or East Greenwich Police Departments
  

• We also recommend getting some practice runs in ahead of time, so please plan on spending time practicing before the qualification.

 

Equipment Needed:

1. 50 rounds (Reloads/Re-manufactured Ammunition not allowed)

2. Pistol or Revolver

3. Ear Protection

4. Eye Protection

5. RI CCW Application
   

6. Positive Attitude

7. Sneakers/Boots (NO Dress Shoes, Flip Flops, Open Toed or Sandals)

8. Valid Driver's License or Government Issued Identification

 

 

 The cost does not include Targets, ammunition or firearm rental if required. The appointment allows for approximately (20) rounds of practice and the (30) round qualification.

 

This qualification is pass or fail, any student that fails to qualify will have one additional attempt to qualify on the same day and time. If unable to qualify on either attempt students must reschedule (if desired) at an addition charge. Please ensure that you bring all required paperwork to the appointment.
